9 YEAR PLAN AFFIRMATIONS

"For, in this religion no other command is as rigorously enjoined as the duty of refinement,

and it is forbidden that one bring any object into being in a state of imperfection when one hath the power to manifest it in full perfection.

For example, should one build an edifice and fail to elevate it to the utmost state of perfection possible for it,

there would be no moment in the life of that edifice when angels would not beseech God to torment him;

nay rather, all the atoms of that edifice would do the same.

For each thing, within its own station, yearneth to attain unto the utmost height of excellence in its own level.

Thus, should a man who is capable not realize and respond to the yearning of his capability,

he will be held accountable therefore..."

Advantages for African American Spaces Only

For Those Needing Safe Spaces

"...As your own analysis shows, there are advantages to sometimes working in multiracial spaces and at other times to spaces for African Americans alone.

In pursuing a two-pronged approach to community building within a cluster, some gatherings will take place in neighborhoods and some in a locality or at the cluster level. These can be organized in different ways to meet different needs. Even with neighborhoods, some will involve an interracial population and others will not. But you should not underestimate the value of contributing to spiritual empowerment and community building in an African American neighborhood where the work of a few dedicated friends can lead to the participation of scores of families—an experience that can itself radically alter and revive a local Bahá’í community that showed no previous capacity to deal with matters of race.   " (Universal House of Justice to the U.S. National Spiritual Assembly, March 24, 2019)

FOR THOSE POTE WHO ARE BEING TESTED, HANG IN THERE. THIS IS YOUR FAITH!

The Negroes Should be Proud and Happy in the Praises Which Bahá'u'lláh Bestowed upon Them And Other Down-Trodden Races

1. "As we neither feel nor acknowledge any distinction between the duties and privileges of a Bahá'í, whoever he may be, it is incumbent upon the negro believers to rise above this great test which the attitude of some of their white brethren may present. They must prove their innate equality not by words but by deeds. They must accept the Cause of Bahá'u'lláh for the sake of the Cause, love it, and cling to it, and teach it, and fight for it as their own Cause, forgetful of the shortcoming of others. Any other attitude is unworthy of their faith.

"Proud and happy in the praises which even Bahá'u'lláh Himself has bestowed upon them, they must feel He revealed Himself for them and every other down-trodden race, loves them, and will help them to attain their destiny.

"The whole race question in America is a national one and of great importance. But the negro friends must not waste their precious opportunity to serve the Faith, in these momentous days, by dwelling on the admitted short-comings of the white friends. They must arise and serve and teach, confident of the future they are building, a future in which we know these barriers will have once and for all been overcome!"

(From a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi to an individual believer, February 9, 1942)

(Compilations, Lights of Guidance, p. 533)

2. "The qualities of heart so richly possessed by the Negro are much needed in the world today-their great capacity for faith, their loyalty and devotion to their religion when once they believe, their purity of heart. God has richly endowed them, and their great contribution to the Cause is much needed, especially as there is a lack of Negro Bahá'í teachers who can go out to their own people, along with their white brothers and sisters, and convince them of the active universality of our Faith. He will especially pray that you may confirm souls of capacity in this field."

(From a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi to two believers, September 27, 1941)

(Compilations, Lights of Guidance, p. 532)

3.  Mental Tests to be Suffered by Believers in the West

"And yet, how often we seem to forget the clear and repeated warning of our beloved Master, who in particular during the concluding years of His Mission on earth, laid stress on the severe mental tests that would inevitably sweep over His loved ones of the West... tests that would purge, purify and prepare them for their noble mission in life.

"Ours then is the duty and privilege to labour, by day, by night, amidst the storm and stress of these troublous days, that we may quicken the zeal of our fellow-man, rekindle their hopes, stimulate their interests, open their eyes to the true Faith of God and enlist their active support in the carrying out of our common task for the peace and regeneration of the world."

(From a letter written by Shoghi Effendi to the believers in Australia and New Zealand, 1923-1957, pp. 1-2)

(Compilations, Lights of Guidance, p. 135)

SPECIAL PROGRAM TONIGHT!!!!!!!!

HATRED DOESN'T SLEEP, NEITHER SHALL WE!!!

TERRORIST GROUPS ARE REASSERTING THEMSELVES! WE MUST BE READY WITH A SPIRITUAL RESPONSE TO A SPIRITUAL DISEASE!

I charge you all that each one of you concentrate all the thoughts of your heart on love and unity. When a thought of war comes, oppose it by a stronger thought of peace.

A thought of hatred must be destroyed by a more powerful thought of love.

Thoughts of war bring destruction to all harmony, well-being, restfulness and content.

BILLIE MAYO SPEAKS DECEMBER 11, 2020 ON BLACK FRIDAY

An Evening with Dr. Billie Mayo- Co-Author of 'Becoming a Social Justice Leader: Using Head, Heart, and Hands to Dismantle Oppression'

ABOUT DR. BILLIE MAYO

Billie will share in her presentation information on how the oppression of internalized racism limits us from accessing our flexible and brilliant thinking, how it impedes us from having loving and trusting relationships with people who look like us, and how it can hinder us from fully embracing our nobility. We will explore ways in which the Baha’i writings and other information clearly delineate the path that we as POTES can tread as we live into our knowledge of who we are as described by Baháu’lláh when He “compared the colored people to the black pupil of the eye surrounded by the white. In this black pupil is seen the reflection of that which is before it, and through it the light of the spirit shineth forth.” (“Abdu’l’Bahá, Advent of Divine Justice, p.31

Dr. Billie Mayo, a retired educator, is a Senior Consultant and former co- owner of Educational Equity Consultants, an organization committed to dismantling the oppression of racism in public education and to building the capacity of individuals, schools and other organizations to address racism in ways that enable all people to reclaim their inherent intelligence and nobility. Dr. Mayo spent twenty-three years as a middle school educator before moving to central level administration where she worked until retiring from Saint Louis Public Schools after 38 years of dedicated service to that District.

While working in the Saint Louis Public School District, Billie conducted a number of in-services for personnel on a wide range of topics such as teambuilding, effective communication, improving discipline with dignity, conflict mediation and stress management. She has shared her expertise and insight on how to dismantle racism and build multicultural alliances among people in a number of places both internationally such as the Virgin Islands and South Africa and nationally in school districts in Portland Oregon, Wichita and Winfield Kansas, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Long Beach California.

Dr. Mayo who is the co-author of the book, Becoming a Social Justice Leader: Using Head, Heart, and Hands to Dismantle Oppression.

BLACK FRIDAYS- DE-PROGRAMMING ANTI-BLACKNESS SERIES

Sample Invitation  share with your friends and family

Welcome to the Pupil of the Eye (POTE) ONLY Friday night talks. The Pupil of the eye (POTE) is a spiritual designation given to people of African descent by Baha'u'llah, the Founder of the Baha'i Faith, who came to restore dignity and identity to downtrodden people. You have received this link because you are of African descent, love black people, desire justice, are open-minded, and want to participate in elevated conversations eliminating racism. We invite our friends of different faith traditions or no faith traditions to join us in our common cause, "the elimination of racial prejudice."  We look forward to learning from you as we share our insights with you.

“Bahá’u’lláh  (1863) once compared the coloured people to the black pupil of the eye surrounded by the white. In this black pupil you see the reflection of that which is before it, and through it the light of the Spirit shines forth. In the sight of God colour makes no difference at all, He looks at the hearts of men."

So, here we are creating a safe space to educate, nurture, and encourage people of African descent to arise and realize their high station given by God. The Baha'i Faith teaches that racism is a spiritual disease and an affront to human dignity. Racism, a system designed to maintain a perpetual underclass based on the ideology of anti-blackness cannot be easily rooted out without awareness, focus, and pro-black re-programming. As Baha'i's, that is our mission, racial justice.

“His Holiness Christ says: Blessed are the poor, for theirs shall be the Kingdom of Heaven.[1] In other words: Blessed are the nameless and traceless poor, for they are the leaders of mankind. Likewise it is said in the Qur’án: “And We desire to show favor to those who were brought low in the land, and to make them spiritual leaders among men, and to make of them Our heirs.“[2] Or, we wish to grant a favor to the impotent souls and suffer them to become the inheritors of the Messengers and Prophets. (Abdu’l-Baha, Tablets of the Divine Plan, p. 34) [1 Cf. Matthew 5:3.] [2 Qur’án 28:5.]

IN THE BAHA’I FAITH, THE BLACK DESCENDANTS OF AFRICA WHO HAVE BEEN DISPLACED AND SCATTERED AROUND THE GLOBE AND ARE THOSE NAMELESS, TRACELESS, IMPOTENT AND POOR SOULS , NOW HAVE A UNIQUE STATION AND ARE SHOWN A REDEMPTIVE FAVOR:

It is impossible to live in America and not be affected by anti-blackness ideologies. Clearly the system of superiority has affected us all. And, sadly some have succumb to the programming and become stockholm-ized, neutered, and tokenized and although "black", they harm us even more. Others have bought into the message of inferiority and forgotten their nobility.  The truth is, neither of these extreme views are healthy and this space is to de-program and educate us all!

In this 2020 series of discussions, members of the Bahai Faith will share their insights on how to heal ourselves and reclaim our Divine station of nobility from a variety of perspectives.

TO RECEIVE A ZOOM INVITATION, COMPLETE THIS FORM. IT IS BY INVITATION ONLY! YOU WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO INVITE YOUR POTE (pupil of the eye / people of African descent)  FRIENDS AND FAMILY ONCE CONFIRMED, BUT EACH NEEDS TO REGISTER ONLY ONCE FOR ALL THE TALKS.
